Bobby and Alison Broughton have experienced a Journey with the Lord through some of life's most difficult circumstances and stand as witnesses today that life with Jesus pays. They proudly profess Jesus Christ not only as Lord and Savior, but comforter and friend. They first met while attending Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. While at Wayland, Bobby completed his Bachelor of Arts degree with study in music, theatre arts and Bible while Alison studied and received her degree in English and teaching certification.
Bobby went on to study for his Master of Fine Arts degree at Texas Tech University. While the couple lived in Lubbock, they attended First Baptist Church where Bobby also trained as an intern in music ministry and youth ministry. That would quickly lead them into a lifetime of church ministry together serving as a worship leader, student minister and eventually, a lead pastor all in Texas churches.
His experience as both a songwriter and script writer brought Bobby many opportunities in ministry over the years to draw on his experience as an actor, director and singer in touring groups, stage productions and a guest singer and performer. As a songwriter, Bobby has seen his work published and used in many churches.
Most recently, Bobby returned to the classroom where he earned a Master of Theological studies degree along with Certification in Biblical Counseling. With the financial backing of executive producers, Charles and Connie Williams, the Lord unexpectedly opened a door of opportunity to go to Nashville in 2022 and work with a leading industry producer on a recording project that includes nine original songs and three cover songs to which he has special ties. The project titled THE JOURNEY not only features Bobby as a solo artist but a songwriter. Nashville's finest and elite Christian engineer, producers, arrangers, and musicians had a part in bringing the album together and Bobby has been sharing it everywhere he can with as many people as he can. In addition to CD's and USB Music Cards, the project is now available on iTunes and most streaming platforms and two of the songs from the project have been receiving considerable radio play on Gospel and Christian stations throughout the Country.
With the remaining producers funding and sales from THE JOURNEY, Bobby returned to the studio in May of 2023 with nine brand new original songs he has written. Two of the songs were in collaboration with writing partner Ronna Jordan. The album is titled SPLIT DECISION and features a mix of contemporary worship and Southern Gospel for a wide variety of tastes. A special duet written by Bobby and Ronna features friend and artist, Tracie Smith. Titled: JUST A LITTLE MORE TIME, the duet and the album took off quickly on Apple Music, Spotify and other streaming Platforms.
Since the release of the first album, Bobby and Alison have shared their message in music and testimony in Texas and other states in church worship concerts, special event programs and in revivals where Bobby preaches as well as sings. The goal of their worship presentations and special events is to minister through the music, testimony and scripture and not to merely entertain.
